Some supplements can also lead to hair loss. Supplement with containing too much vitamin A can trigger loss of hair.
During pregnancy, some women tend to lose their hair. This can be due to the hormonal changes that occurs in the body during pregnancy. This condition is temporal and one can grow their hair back after childbirth.

The way you treat your hair more often can also be the reasons you lose your hair. Certain hairstyles or certain chemicals used in treating hair can also result in baldness.

- Gradual Thinning – Both men and women experience hair thinning. This occurs over time. You begin to lose more hair than your body can replace. It is more visible in men but.
- Receding Hairline – This is when your hairline begins to go back as you age. This seem to be the case for most men.
- Hair loss on body – Some conditions can lead to hair loss on the body itself. This can be as a result of chemotherapy or radiation therapy.
- Scalping – You might begin to lose hair on your head as a result of infections such as ringworm. This causes patches that can spread on the head.
Prevention of Hair loss
There are ways to minimize or prevent hair loss unless it is caused by genetics. These include;
- Avoid taking too much supplement especially ones that contain vitamin A
- Make sure you do not lack vitamin B in your body.
- Treat infections like ringworm when you get them.
- Avoid some hairstyles that can cause hair loss
- Know the side effects of the hair products you choose.
- During and after pregnancy, have enough calcium to help grow back hair lost during pregnancy.
- Learn to avoid too much stress.
- When you lose your hair, there is no chance of growing it back unless it is triggered by infections or other diseases. Hair lost due to an infection can be regained after treating the disease.
- Finasteride – This is a medication that slows down the loss of hair. It is mostly approved for men who are losing their hair. It can sometime help grow back hair.
- Hair transplant surgery can also be done in some cases when one loses hair completely. This can be expensive for most people.
